UPDATE: Vybz Kartel could be freed before "DECEMBER"




Incarcerated dancehall star Vybz Kartel finally get a chance to defend himself against two murder charge.

The “Dancehall Hero” deejay murder trial starts October 29th.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, will stand trial for the death of alleged fellow gang member Clive “Lizard” Williams, as well as, a St. Catherine businessman/promoter Barrington “Bosie” Burton.

The former Portmore Empire head is also charged with illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Several other co-accused will sit in the hot chair alongside Vybz Kartel, including his protege Shawn “Storm” Campbell, and his stylist Calvin ‘Moonie’ Haye.

Kahira Jones and Andre St. John are also jointly charged with Kartel in Williams’ murder. While Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald are jointly charged with the deejay in Burton’s murder.

Kartel’s attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, is expected to file an application for bail on his next court date.
