Through his "dancehall round robin" venture, veteran entertainer Ninja Man hopes that the original dancehall sound and style of the 1990s can be rejuvenated in Jamaican popular music.
In a recent interview with The STAR, the 'Don Gorgon' said, "We a bring back the dancehall vibe, the Killamanjaro, the Scorpio, and wi a look a nex' sound. Wi waah draw Jammys inna it full time or another original rub-a-dub sound cause wi waah bring back the dancehall."
He also spoke of the need for the current crop of entertainers to be in sync with the history of dancehall music and not just the direction that it is being led as a result of technology.

This, he said, was one of the major reasons for taking on the venture.
"The yute dem fi learn fi ride the rub-a-dub dancehall riddim dem and get more use to what it is fi be a dancehall artiste and not a computer artiste. We a bring back the rub-a-dub dancehall," he said.
Although he was not decided on what the format of the effort would be, Ninja Man shared a general outline.
"Wi a call it a Dancehall Round Robin. Every artiste a get a night, and every sound man a get a night, an wi a carry it to 14 parishes. Wi just a try get in some sponsors and them ting deh, an when wi dweet, wi a donate it to schools cause we a use that to build the schools," he explained.
Ninja Man, who was behind bars for about three years before he was granted bail in March, also wished to say a big thank you to all those who supported him during his times of trouble. Particularly those who supported the charity show held for him on June 30 last year at Jam World in Portmore, St Catherine.
"Mi waah give a shout out to all a di man dem weh come a di benefit show fi mi di other day. Because the man dem come and them turn out good. The crowd was there but the people them bruck yah man. Mi really haffi go do it ova again. But anyway, the artiste dem come and it was a splendid vibe. Di people dem get back some real Jaro (Killamanjaro) days, it was a splendid night," said Ninja Man.
