Backstreet Boys have an announcement that was bigger than their recent reunion. The boyband will release a new album next spring to celebrate the group's 20th anniversary and perform with Kevin Richardson once again.
Richardson quit the group in 2006 and only occasionally performed with the group since. Their first big reunion will take place during "Good Morning America" summer concert series on August 31 in Central Park. The boys announced last April that Richardson will be back permanently this time. The group said they "couldn't be happier to have our brother back with us."
As for the album, the fivesome have been working in a London studio with producer Martin Terefe who also produced for Mary J. Blige and Jason Marz. "We all discussed, we want this to be a personal record," Richardson told MTV News earlier this month. "We want it to be authentic to us and who we are and where we're at in our lives."
He added, "We want to talk about the things that are relevant in our life, and we want to be authentic and make a great record that we're proud of, and that's kind of where we're starting."
