Dancehall producer Elvis ‘So Unique’ Redwood sent a Blackberry broadcast message warning people about an impersonator posing as Vybz kartel and scamming people of of millions, yesterday morning.
The Gaza/PG13 Road Manager and Booking Agent reported that a number of well known artistes and high profile people were contacted by persons posing as Vybz Kartel via text and blackberry messages and were asked to give money towards his (Kartel’s) legal fees.
According to reports, the scammer operated for over a month and collected over 3 million JMD in total.
Elvis stated that the ‘Real Vybz Kartel’ has not contacted anyone regarding his legal fees and is still incarcerated scheduled to appear in court on July 20th. He is urging anyone who has been contacted by these scammers to report them to the police.
