News:23 yr old woman charged with murder of Italian chef

The 23 year old woman who is accused of the July 1 fatal stabbing of an Italian chef at a restaurant at Market Place in St. Andrew has been charged with murder.

Our news centre has been informed that the woman was charged on Monday and is to appear in court before the end of the week.

This follows the submission of a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The woman, who was employed to the restaurant as an Assistant Chef, was taken into custody after her co worker Pablo Auigliano succumbed to stab wounds.

It's reported that Mr. Auigliano was on duty in the kitchen at the eatery, when he was accidentally splashed with hot oil by the female chef.

The two had an altercation which ended when their co-workers intervened.

However, another argument later developed during which Mr. Auigliano was stabbed in the neck with a knife.

The 40-year-old Italian died on the spot.
